Progress
Works by Centregreat on behalf of Somerset Council are on programme. The works around Downend have progressed well with new footpaths created and existing ones widened. The works to create the new pedestrian crossing has also begun.
The works along the central reservation between Trelleborg and McDonalds is progressing well with the new kerbing complete in order to prepare the area for the new pedestrian crossing to be installed.
The central ‘throughabout’ is being finalised in the roundabout itself with really significant progress having already installed the new drainage. The new kerbing has also been installed in this area.
New fencing has been completed along the carriageway around the Trelleborg fence line and on the opposite side of the carriageway.
The next phase (see Traffic management below) will see significant resurfacing works around theroundabout between the 15th of September and the 8th of October. This will dramatically show the new shape and much of the final appearance of the works.
